Even complaints or grievances received from the members pertaining to any government department are closely examined and appropriate action taken on replies thereto received, are communicated to parties concerned. Since lot of awareness had taken place in the mofussil areas, the members from these areas are taking appreciable advantage of the services of the Chamber vis-à-vis urban members.
The Chamber's commitment to better, effective and more efficient services to the members and the community at large has produced positive results year after year. It has made GCCI a stable organisation that has withstood the test of time. It has registered phenomenal growth in membership over the years as can be seen from the following:
The Chamber has recently celebrated Golden Jubilee which was attended by about 12,000 delegates from all over Gujarat and the same was inaugurated by Shri Yashwant Sinha, Hon'ble Finance Minister-Government of India. The theme of the Golden Jubilee year was "Global Gujarat" which dedicated the year 1998-99 as the year for making Gujarat - The Economic Power House of 21st Century.
GCCI has added a new dimension by adopting the theme "Global Gujarat - Resurgent Gujarat" and being partner in the project "Resurgent Gujarat" which has been jointly sponsored by MEA, FICCI, Government of Gujarat and GCCI. This represents a novel surge of dynamism and enthusiasm of the Chamber towards globalisation of Gujarat. This integrates long cherished traditions of the Chamber with its thrust towards meeting with the emerging challenges and opportunities of harnessing foreign funds and technology in the development of trade and industry and to overlook development of Gujarat in the new millennium. This is reflective of its new mission, vision and drive to create modern Gujarat-Global Gujarat.
